NEW CMU Ecstasy Motion BVH release v1.0, last update June 27, 2012 by Chris Calef, BrokeAssGames LLC Created using Ecstasy Motion. These anims are a modification of the full set of 2600 motion capture files initally released by Carnegie Mellon University, and since modified by several people, ending with the Daz-friendly, hip-corrected set of files This release further modifies the 2010 Hahne BVHs in the following ways: 1) Anims are resampled at 30 fps instead of the original 120 fps. 2) All unused node data has been dropped (fingers, eyes, buttocks). 3) All rotation data (in degrees) is expressed to only two decimal places rather than eight. 4) All anims have also been released as Torque DSQ files, using the Advanced Character Kit (Daz/Poser-friendly) skeleton by BrokeAss Games, LLC. (CMU_EcstasyMotion_DSQ.zip) Taken together, these changes reduce the overall size of the library, when unzipped, from 5.12 gigabytes down to 380 megs, and the lack of the finger and other unused node data may make import into certain applications go more smoothly. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the original Carnegie Mellon Universityfor releasing this data, and all the other individuals who have helped make it more usable by the average animator. This conversion was created using Ecstasy Motion, an indie-friendly motion capture, physics and AI-driven animation engine available from BrokeAss Games, LLC. Thanks and Cheers. Hi Spartan If you look in the comments on the kickstarter page, I've done some testing with Poser. It is not compatible out of the box, as the bone naming convention is different, but if you go into the bvh file and edit the bone names, you can get some good results. This is what I posted on the kickstarter page: ' @joey and @Tristan. The problem is the difference in the naming conventions and hierarchy of the bones in the bvh file from perception and what Poser is looking for. Manual editing of the bvh file can fix a lot of that but it is a pain. For example, Perception puts out Spine, Spine1, spine2, spine3. Poser looks for abdomen and chest. There are also some odd joints that I have to figure out why they are there.but Poser will just ignore them and they don't seem to have any movement anyway. It also places the character far above the floor plane, similar to what Motionbuilder does. I have to play with it more, but here's a sample once the joints were renamed, it looks really, really good. If an exporter can be made that will rename the joints to something that Poser can read, this will expand your customer base quite a bit. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll send you the edited file if you want Heres the file Let me know if you have any questions. I don't know about Poser, but it works with Daz Studio. I took some sample output and had to figure out how to map the PN bones to the Genesis skeleton. After some trial and error, I figured out the correct map. Daz has a setting to save bone maps when importing, so I don't need to remember how to do it every time. I can just load the PN map settings. Here's a test render from their sample data to genesis that I did. There is some wonkiness in the leg movement at the end. But I didn't do very much adjusting to it at all. Shemale models modsgarden. Just a few tweaks to prevent clipping.
